Our Story

“Ole Dogs” is named for our girl, Elsa- an Irish Wolfhound mix rescue dog. It seems that she didn’t always get along with others and was pretty rebellious, so she had to leave her former home.

Ultimately, thanks to a partnership between the Morrow County Humane Society and Marion Correctional Institute, she was sent to prison to be reformed.

At the same time, as with so many others, a worldwide pandemic relegated one-half of her current owners to a mind-maddening stint working from home, while the other half was deemed essential and went to work every day.

As he battled for sanity, it was determined that what he needed was a companion. As it turned out, Elsa needed a home.

With love, care, and patience, Elsa’s trainer/inmate worked with her to make her the welcoming, kind, and loving girl that is now part of our family.

Many of our coffee bars, like Elsa, started from discarded pieces of furniture that were sort of dinged up and broken. With love, care, and patience, we have rehabbed them and turned them into something beautiful.

Although we seem to be getting back to some sort of normal, we recognize now more than ever the value of connection.
